MOTOR CARS AUCTIONS

About us

We are a UK online vehicle marketplace that brings bank-recovered, finance-repossessed and remarketed cars to serious buyers — through live timed auctions and a clear fixed-price catalogue.

Who we are

MOTOR CARS AUCTIONS LIMITED operates the MOTOR CARS AUCTIONS platform from 7 Manor St, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2PT, United Kingdom. We are not a traditional high-street dealership with a showroom full of new retail stock. Our role is to remarket motor vehicles that need a transparent, structured route to sale — and to give private buyers and trade buyers one place to browse, bid or buy with clear next steps.

In practice, that means publishing lots with the details you need to decide, running timed online auctions with real countdowns, offering Buy Now where a fixed price makes sense, and taking verified buyers through contract, invoice and payment after a successful purchase. The governing law for our platform terms is England and Wales.

Our role — vehicles from banks, finance and recovery

Many of the cars you see on MOTOR CARS AUCTIONS arrive through remarketing and recovery channels, not through a conventional retail pipeline. Typical sources include:

  • Bank and lender repossession — vehicles returned or recovered where finance agreements have broken down and the asset needs to be sold to recover value.
  • Finance / asset recovery — stock released through recovery partners or asset managers who need a fast, auditable route to market.
  • Insolvency and enforcement releases — vehicles that become available through insolvency processes, enforcement action, or related remarketing programmes.
  • Other remarketed stock — additional recovered or trade-in style inventory where an online auction or fixed-price sale is the right channel.

Because of that background, listings are presented as described / as seen unless a lot expressly states a written warranty. Photos, mileage, notes and condition comments matter — please read them carefully before you bid or buy. We exist to make this type of stock accessible online, with UK-style bidder checks and a purchase process that does not hide behind vague listings.

What we offer on the platform

MOTOR CARS AUCTIONS combines two buying paths in one marketplace. You choose the route that fits the vehicle and your timing.

Live timed auctions

Lots run with a live countdown, a current bid, and a minimum increment. Verified buyers place binding bids while the auction is open. When the clock ends, the highest valid bid normally wins — subject to any reserve and our Terms. Late bidding on some lots may extend the close (soft close) so last-second sniping does not shut others out unfairly.

Catalogue & Buy Now

Not every vehicle needs a bidding war. The catalogue lists stock available to browse, and where Buy Now is enabled you can purchase at a published fixed price — no countdown, no competing bids. Ideal when you have found the right car and want to secure it immediately.

Who buys with us

We serve both private buyers and trade buyers. Private buyers typically look for a specific model or a fair route into recovered stock. Trade buyers may look for volume, turnaround, or particular makes and grades. Either way, the onboarding is the same idea: create an account, verify your email, upload photo ID and proof of address, wait for staff approval, then Place bid / Buy Now unlocks.

There is no separate registration fee. Approval is usually within one to two working days, depending on document quality and review volume. You can track progress under My account.

How a purchase works after you win or buy

Securing a vehicle starts a clear follow-through. We keep the steps structured so both sides know what happens next.

  1. Contract Purchase paperwork is issued. You sign and return / upload it as instructed so the sale can proceed.
  2. Invoice You receive an invoice for the agreed price. On auction wins this normally includes a 10% buyer's premium on the hammer price (unless a lot says otherwise), plus VAT where due.
  3. Payment Pay by bank transfer using the details and reference on your invoice (Open Banking may be offered where enabled).
  4. Collection or delivery Once funds are confirmed, arrange collection or delivery as offered for that vehicle. Deadlines and options appear on your order.

What we stand for

  • Transparent recovered stock. We are open about the nature of the inventory: bank, finance and remarketing channels are part of how these cars reach the market. Listings should help you decide — not surprise you after the fact.
  • Verified buyers only for commitments. Anyone can learn how the platform works, but placing a bid or completing Buy Now requires email verification and approved identity documents. That protects the integrity of every sale.
  • Clear pricing path. Hammer price, buyer's premium (10% on typical auction wins) and applicable VAT are explained in our Terms and on lot pages — so winning or buying should not come with hidden maths.
  • Structured handover. Contract, invoice, payment and collection / delivery keep the post-sale process orderly for buyers and for the remarketing chain behind the stock.
  • Support when you need it. Use live chat when signed in, or contact us by form or email. Include your account email and lot / stock ID if you have a question about a specific vehicle.
